In North America, numerous incentives are available to make e-bikes more affordable for individuals and businesses. We've compiled a list of subsidy programs across Canada and the US to help you start your eco-friendly journey on two wheels. Canadian E-Bike Incentives
- British Columbia: CleanBC Go Electric Rebates up to $1,700 support electric vehicles, including cargo e-bikes, but only for businesses or public organizations. Check eligibility before applying.
- Nova Scotia: A $500 rebate is available for e-bikes bought from select dealers, with pricing between $1,200 and $10,000.
- Prince Edward Island: Provides a $500 rebate to individuals (one per year) and organizations (up to five per year), excluding government agencies.
- Yukon: Offers a 25% rebate on e-bikes, up to $750 for standard and $1,500 for cargo versions, for both residents and businesses.
U.S. E-Bike Incentives
- District of Columbia: Offers up to $1,500 in vouchers for e-bike purchases, prioritizing low-income residents, with new applications in early 2025.
- Minnesota: Covers 50-75% of purchase costs up to $1,500. Next applications open in early summer 2025.
- Rhode Island: Offers up to $750 or 75% off for income-qualified buyers, limited to two rebates per household, excluding chain store purchases.
- Vermont: Provides up to $2,500 per e-bike for businesses and non-profits to replace fossil-fueled vehicles.
- Washington State is launching a $5 million e-bike rebate initiative in April 2025, funded by emissions taxes. Low-income individuals earning less than 80% of the median income can receive up to $1,200 for e-bike purchases, while others can get a $300 rebate.
