Ohm Bike Model: XS700
Total Time (h:m:s): 5 to 7 hours
Distance (mi/km): 20 to 35 Kms/day
In the past year I have been thinking about buying an electric bike. As I am getting older (79 years old), it became more apparent that I need some help to continue biking as much as I like to. Since we have move to Vancouver from the “Interior”, my wife and I hardly use our vehicle. We do all shopping on foot.

In the past 6 months I have looked at several models of electric bikes. The “Sport XS700” seem to have all the making that I was looking for:

1) Strength in the frame.
2) Low profile to mount the bike
3) Strong bicycle rack.
4) Nice seat, handles bar and light system.
5) Super service from local dealer.
6) After acquiring the bike I have got to know OHM’s owner – I have been in business for 27 years – You are the best I have ever known for service and stand behind your product,
I ride my (OHM Sport XS700) bike daily.

I spent nowhere from 5 to 7 hours a day (averaging 20 to 35 Ks/day) 7 days a week – very few days in the month that I do not ride my bike) – travelling 800 to 1000 Ks/month. I have purchased the bike August 14/09, since then to to-day I have biked close to 3000 Ks. I do recycling – which is an insentive for me to keep on biking with two types of rewards at the end of the day: a) keep my weight down and – b) a few dollars. I am not cheap but I like making money – regardless how little it is.

The West End and Stanley Park have a mixture of terrain a) flat in some areas – b) and quite hilly in others. That give me a mixture of riding. The XS700 battery, using the battery only when needed, like uphill, getting started or when having a heavy load. Most of the time I carry 10/15 pounds to as much as 100 lbs. The battery normally lasts me an average of 2 ½ hours when used on the above mentioned basis. When biking with no load around Stanley park or to the East towards False Creek and beyond – again pending of the terrain – you might get more mileage from the same “charge“.
