Great Test Ride

Ohm Bike Model: XS750
Distance (mi/km): 17 km
The test ride is going great. Through sun, wind, rain and even snow the bike keeps on truckin. I have been using it on average 4 days a week for the past 5 weeks or so. I ride from my house in Burnaby to the Brentwood skytrain station, then from the King George skytrain station to work in Surrey. The total riding distance would be approx. 8.5 km one way.

Typically one day (to work and back) will use up the battery to 1 or 2 bars remaining. The battery usage to work is relatively minimal: I will have the lights on the whole ride; I use power 2 for about 1 km; I use power 4 for about about 1.5 km (a large hill); I will put the bike on regen 4 going down the hill – approx. 500m.

The ride to work will use up approx. 3 bars of power. The ride home I will have power on for most of the way: I will have it on power 2 for approx 4.5 km and power 4 for 4 km; no lights are on and no regen; this will use up to 1 or 2 bars of power remaining. The battery charges quickly and has been no problem. The bike itself has been working great too.

I have been really enjoying riding in. Like I said to you before, the ride is relaxing and invigorating compared to having to deal with driving, which leads me to being frustrated and lethargic. Having the power assistance has been essential as I don’t think I would or could ride to work regularly. There is one large hill to climb on the way to work and two large hills on the way home that would be daunting without the power assist.
